Ariston introduces the new Primo HE and Classico HE ranges of high efficiency cylinders. These impressive ranges offer highly effective insulation, minimising standing heat loss and offering improved efficiency within the home. Ease of installation was also an important consideration in the development of these cylinders and the Primo HE and Classico HE ranges have been designed so they are even quicker and easier to fit.

“Ariston is a market leader in the manufacture of unvented cylinders and has drawn on their wide experience and technical expertise to develop these new cylinder ranges,” explains Gareth Ash, Product Manager. “As well as reducing carbon emissions and household energy bills, the Primo HE and Classico HE ranges also fully comply with proposed changes to Part L. Therefore, the installer can recommend these products in the knowledge that they will meet legislative requirements now and in the future.”

The Primo HE and Classico HE ranges have been developed very much with the installer in mind. To make installation even easier, the plastic feet at the bottom of the cylinder come ready-fitted, so the installer no longer has to attach them as part of the installation. These cylinders also come with a ¾ BSP male thread pipe connection as opposed to a female thread, which was the standard attachment on previous cylinder ranges.

When examining the potential for energy efficiency, Gareth adds, “Some of these cylinders can also be used as part of renewable energy technologies such as solar thermal, which will always need a store for the collected natural heat. Twin coil cylinders are widely used in renewable energy installations and are the perfect choice for homeowners wishing to install solar thermal, as the bottom coil can be supplied by heat from the solar panels and the top coil can be connected to a traditional heat source such as a boiler. The Primo HE range offers this option in the Primo HE Twin model. When combining a Primo HE Twin cylinder, which offers minimal standing heating loss, and a solar thermal water heating system such as Ariston’s SOLARcomfort package, householders can enjoy maximum home comfort with the benefit of greatly reduced fuel bills and minimal carbon emissions.”

The Primo HE is the high specification stainless steel range of floor standing cylinders. All plumbing connections are accessible from the front and these cylinders carry a 25 year tank guarantee as standard. Designed for long life and durability, these cylinders give excellent corrosion resistance, even in aggressive water areas. Units are available as direct or indirect, with sizes ranging from 100 litres to 300 litres.
Classico HE cylinders share many benefits with the Primo HE range except they feature a quality glass-lined steel tank which includes a magnesium anode to protect against corrosion. A unique coil design allows the full quantity of water within the cylinder to be heated and the large surface area of the coil offers exceptional reheat times. Classico HE is available in a number of sizes from 125 litres to 500 litres.
